Foots Cray

A district on the south side of Sidcup along the River Cray, home to Foots Cray Meadows, the Five Arches bridge, and one of Bexley’s recycling centres.

Foots Cray is a district on the southern side of Sidcup, in the London Borough of Bexley, largely within the DA14 postcode. It sits along the valley of the River Cray and takes its name from a settlement recorded in the Domesday Book.

## Foots Cray Meadows

The area's best-known open space is Foots Cray Meadows, a large expanse of riverside parkland following the River Cray. It is crossed by the Five Arches bridge, a much-photographed brick bridge over the river, and links a network of footpaths popular with walkers.

## Recycling and Services

Foots Cray is home to one of Bexley's two household reuse and recycling centres, on Maidstone Road (DA14 5HS), which is open to Bexley residents seven days a week except Wednesdays. See our Sidcup recycling centre guide for the current opening hours and access rules.

## Getting Around

Main Road (the A211) runs through Foots Cray towards Sidcup town centre and the A20. The nearest railway stations are Sidcup and Albany Park, and bus routes connect Foots Cray with the wider borough.
